Dont believe everything you read - SEO
Dont believe everything you hear.. XML sitemaps could be hurting your site. I have always used XML sitemaps and read as an SEO point they are imperrative.. But this is not always so.. I added a sitemap recently to a site and watched it disapear into the search results.. I couldnt understand what happened.. until i decided to remove the sitemap.. website jumped 14 pages back onto the first page of google.. and yes for those doubters, the sitemap was properly formatted. ive now removed sitemaps from all my sites and things have improved..
so if somthing is wrong with your site. somthing is not happening.. Try removing that pesky xml sitemap. it may just be a silent killer !.
